77th Three-Day Urs of Hazrat Ganj Shaheeda Baba Begins Today

Udaipur: The 77th three-day Urs of Hazrat Ganj Shaheeda Baba, located at the Ambavgarh hill dargah in Udaipur, will commence on Friday, 28 November, with the traditional Parcham Kushai ceremony in the dargah premises.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dargah Committee President Ghulam Moinuddin Qadri (Raja Bhai), where preparations for the Urs were reviewed and responsibilities were assigned to committee members to ensure that the devotees attending the Urs face no inconvenience. Present on the occasion were Imam Maulana Babul Hussain, Secretary Javed Khan, Nafees Khan, Irfan Khan Channu, Mohammad Shaukat, Intkhab Alam, Naeem Khan, Bilal Khan, Sahil Sheikh, Rafe, Hasnain, and other committee members.

President Ghulam Moinuddin Qadri informed that the 77th Urs of Hazrat Ganj Shaheeda Baba will be observed from 28 to 30 November, corresponding to the 6th, 7th, and 9th of the Islamic month Jamadil Akhir. The Urs will be held under the guidance of Sufi Nisar Ahmed Qadri of Basni Nagaur Sharif. Several religious programs will be organized in the dargah premises, attracting devotees from Udaipur and nearby regions. A community langar will be arranged for all three days of the Urs.

Dargah Committee spokesperson Mohsin Haider stated that on the first day, 28 November (Friday), Quran Khwani will be held after the Fajr prayers. At 8 AM, the Parcham Kushai ceremony will take place at the dargah. After Asr prayers around 5 PM, the Husaini Parcham will be raised, and later, after Isha prayers, a Mehfil-e-Milad will be organized. Special guests will include Syed Fazil Miyan Mysore and Gaddinashin of Naukunti Darbar Padukalan Faqeer Ramzan Ali Shah, noted naatkhwan Javed Raza Qadri from Basni Nagaur Sharif, and Udaipur’s Shahar Qazi Hamid Raza.

On the second day, 29 November (Saturday), a Mehfil-e-Sama (Qawwali night) will be organized after Isha prayers. The event will feature renowned qawwals such as Zubair Naeem Ajmeri from Jaipur, Dastaarband qawwal Rafiq Mastana Warsi, and international qawwal Mastana Akhlaq Sultani (Udaipuri). The traditional Sandal ritual will be performed at 1 AM.

On the third day, 30 November (Sunday), the Kull Ki Mehfil will begin after the Zuhr prayers, with qawwali groups presenting their kalam. The Urs will conclude with the Kull Ki Fateha after the Asr prayers.
