International Women's Day Workshop at Sukhadia University

 

Udaipur,  On the occasion of International Women's Day, the UGC Women's Studies Center at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, organized a one-day training workshop on the Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal of Sexual Harassment at the Workplace Act, 2013. As part of the week-long celebration called 'Mandala,' various activities were organized, focusing on women's empowerment. During this period, a workshop was conducted on the Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal of Sexual Harassment at the Workplace Act, 2013.


The chief guest of the program, Prof. Sunita Mishra, the Vice-Chancellor of Sukhadia University, emphasized the need to make workplaces safe for women, providing information about the Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal of Sexual Harassment at the Workplace Act, 2013. She urged the workplace to be secure for women and encouraged them to be vigilant about their rights. Additional District Judge Praveen Kumar, Director of the Women's Studies Center Prof. Sudha Choudhary, and Dean of UGC-Human Resource Development Centre Prof. Hemant Dwivedi also spoke about the current status of women's empowerment and the efforts made to strengthen it in the present era.


Dr. Garima Mishra, the organizer of the Mandala event, highlighted the various activities organized by the university and inaugurated the workshop, shedding light on its objectives. The program included discussions on the rules and regulations related to the prevention and redressal of workplace harassment, involving the participation of officials from Jatan Institute, Dr. Kailash Brijwasi, Surbhi Yadav, Apurva Sen, and Marudhar Singh. Suggestions were given by participants to make workplaces safe for women, and they were encouraged to work on these suggestions within their respective departments.

 


The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Garima Mishra and Assistant Professor UGC Women's Studies Center, followed by the presentation of the play "Soch" by the Mandala group at the end of the program. Over 80 participants took part in various activities during the program. The event was managed by research scholars Tanvi and Swati.

On the other hand, on the occasion of International Women's Day, the UGC Women's Studies Center at Mohanlal Sukhadia University organized a week-long celebration called 'Mandala Utsav' (March 2-8). The activities included logo designing and painting competitions, movie screenings, street play 'Soch,' health check-up and blood donation camp, debates, quizzes, extempore, games, open mic, tree plantation, and a cleanliness drive. Dr. Kailash Brijwasi, Director of Jatan Institute, Surbhi Yadav, Senior Program Manager, Apurva Sen, ICSC Committee Member, and Marudhar Singh participated in the workshop and discussed rules and regulations related to prevention and redressal of workplace harassment.

 

 

Dr. Garima Mishra, the Mandala event organizer, and Assistant Professor UGC Women's Studies Center thanked the guests for their participation. The program concluded with the Mandala group presenting the street play "Soch," featuring more than 80 participants from various fields, including private sectors, universities, schools, banks, etc. The event was anchored by research scholars Tanvi and Swati.
