A One-Day Women Farmers' Training and Agricultural Input Distribution Program

A one-day women farmers' training and agricultural input distribution program were organized at the University's Horticulture Farm by the All India Coordinated Fruit Project under MPKV. Forty women from the tribal community participated in the program.

Specialists including Dr. S.S. Lakhawat, Dr. K.K. Yadav, Dr. B.G. Chhipa, Dr. Virendra Singh, and Dr. Ravindra Kumar Jain provided information about scientific techniques for planting improved varieties of fruits and vegetables in nutrition gardens to the women farmers. They advised women farmers to cultivate root crops in the backyards and seasonal vegetables and flowers between the poles to earn profits.

At the closing ceremony of the program, Department Head Dr. H.L. Berwa and Project Coordinator Dr. S.S. Lakhawat distributed ten plants of improved varieties of fruit-bearing trees and small packets of various summer vegetables' seeds to each participating woman farmer. Project Coordinator Dr. S.S. Lakhawat expressed heartfelt gratitude to all subject specialists and women farmers for their participation in the program.
