Udaipur, A major controversy has erupted after the Vice-Chancellor of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Prof. Sunita, referred to Aurangzeb as “the most skilled administrator” during a seminar on Indian Knowledge Systems and the National Education Policy.
The All India National Educational Federation, Rajasthan (Higher Education), strongly condemned the statement, calling it factually incorrect and an insult to Indian culture. Federation General Secretary Prof. Richhpal Singh stated:
“Equating great Indian warriors like Maharana Pratap and Prithviraj Chauhan with foreign invaders like Akbar, and glorifying a tyrant like Aurangzeb as a skilled administrator, is not only misleading but also deeply disrespectful to our civilizational heritage.”
Federation President Prof. Manoj Baharwal called the remark a disgrace for the academic fraternity, saying:
“Aurangzeb demolished temples, executed Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Chhatrapati Sambhaji, imposed the Jizya tax on Hindus, and sought to crush India’s indigenous knowledge traditions. Labeling such a ruler as an ‘ideal administrator’ reflects the distorted colonial-leftist narrative, which should never be endorsed from a respected academic platform.”
The Federation has demanded strict disciplinary action against the Vice-Chancellor from the State Government and the Governor. It further urged that strong measures be taken to ensure no university authority in the future dares to equate civilizational icons with historical oppressors.
