Udaipur – The Bharat Vikas Parishad Subhash Branch organized its Diwali Milan program at the auditorium of Tulsi Niketan School, celebrating the spirit of unity, cleanliness, and environmental awareness.
The program commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by soulful songs by Mrs. Manju Sanadhya and Mrs. Shyamji Matwal. The national song “Hum Karen Rashtra Aaradhan” was recited collectively under the guidance of Dr. P.C. Jain, while Ashok Dhupia entertained the gathering with light-hearted jokes.
Branch Secretary Shobhalal Dashora presented a detailed account of the activities conducted throughout the year and requested all members to continue their active participation. Treasurer Nirbhay Babel shared a brief financial report of the branch.
Provincial Coordinator Rishabh Jain urged members to actively support initiatives related to the Panch Pran, social harmony, family awakening, the use of Swadeshi products, fulfillment of civic duties, and environmental conservation.
Chief Guest K.K. Gupta, who is recognized as the Brand Ambassador of Cleanliness, emphasized the importance of maintaining not only household cleanliness during Diwali but also ensuring the cleanliness of streets and surroundings. He stated that clean drains and roads help prevent diseases such as malaria, dengue, diarrhea, and typhoid, ultimately improving the average lifespan of citizens.
While saluting his “Water Guru” Dr. P.C. Jain, he mentioned that taking inspiration from him, Dungarpur Municipal Council became the only municipality in the state and the country to provide complete financial assistance to building owners for water conservation measures — resulting in a significant rise in the area’s groundwater levels.
He also described plastic as a serious environmental threat and expressed his commitment to contribute in every possible way to make Udaipur a plastic-free city.
During the event, Mrs. Sarla Banthia and Mr. Sushil Banthia were honored for their financial support to the Regional Women’s Conference. Women participants of the skit “Jal Sanchay”, directed by Dr. P.C. Jain, were also felicitated on stage.
New members Mr. Kamlesh Pokarna and Advocate Mrs. Shweta Pokarna were warmly welcomed into the branch.
The program was chaired by Dr. Mrs. Manju Jain (Senior Vice President) and Mr. Bhajanlal Goyal, while Mr. Bhupesh Khamesra conducted the proceedings in a lively and engaging manner.
