Blessings Descend as the 77th Urs of Hazrat Ganj Shaheeda Baba Begins in Udaipur

Udaipur — The spiritual ambience atop the Ambavgarh hill grew vibrant as the three-day 77th Urs of Hazrat Ganj Shaheeda Baba commenced on Friday, 28 November, with the ceremonial Parcham Kushai held early in the morning at the Dargah premises.

Dargah Committee President Ghulam Moinuddin Qadri (Raja Bhai) informed that, as every year, the Urs is being celebrated with devotion and great enthusiasm under the guidance of Sufi Nisar Ahmed Qadri of Basni Nagaur Sharif. People from all faiths are participating in large numbers, offering flowers, chadar, and perfume at the sacred shrine. The traditional doodh-daliya prepared on fulfilled vows is blessed with Fatiha and distributed as tabarruk. The Dargah Committee has also arranged langar for all three days.

To ensure smooth arrangements for the devotees, various committees have been formed, entrusting responsibilities to Secretary Javed Khan, Nafees Khan, Irfan Khan Channu, Mohammad Shaukat, Intikhab Alam, Naeem Khan, Bilal Khan, Sahil Sheikh, Rafay, Hasnain, and other members.

According to Dargah Committee spokesperson Mohsin Haider, the first day began with Quran Khawani after the Fajr prayer, in which a large number of people participated. At 8 am, the formal Parcham Kushai took place at the Dargah Sharif, followed by the Hussaini Parcham procession at the Buland Darwaza after the Asr prayer at 5 pm. Later, after Isha prayers, the Mahfil-e-Milad was held, attended by special guests including Gaddinashin Faqir Ramzan Ali Shah (Naukunty Darbar, Padukalan), Syed Fazil Miyan (Mysore), renowned naatkhwan Javed Raza Qadri (Basni Nagaur Sharif), and Udaipur’s Shahar Qazi Hamid Raza, who recited naats and delivered spiritual discourses.

Day Two: Qawwali Night on 29 November

On Saturday night, after Isha prayers, a soulful Mahfil-e-Sama (Qawwali) will be organised. Special qawwals from Jaipur — Zubair Naeem Ajmeri — along with Dargah’s traditional qawwals Rafiq Mastana Warsi and Mastana Akhlaq Sultani (International Qawwal, Udaipur) will present their kalam. At 1 am, the ritual of Sandal will be performed.

Day Three: Concluding Ceremony on 30 November

On Sunday, the third day of the Urs, the Mahfil-e-Kul will begin after the Zuhr prayer, where qawwal groups will present devotional kalam. The Urs will conclude after Asr prayer with the Fatiha of Kul.
