Udaipur. The 8th Scientific Advisory Committee meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Udaipur-II, Vallabhnagar, was held on Friday, August 29, under the chairmanship of Dr. Ajeet Kumar Karnataka, Vice Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur.
At the outset, Principal Scientist Dr. Maniram welcomed all the participants. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Karnataka emphasized that adopting innovations is the key to enhancing farmers’ income. He stated that innovations should reach farmers so that they can sustain their families, educate their children, meet healthcare needs, and fulfill social responsibilities with the income generated from farming, thereby contributing to the nation’s development.
The Chief Guest, Dr. R.L. Soni, Director of Extension Education, highlighted that KVK training programs should be compiled into a training calendar and distributed across line departments and NGOs to maximize farmer participation and awareness.
Mushroom scientist Dr. N.L. Meena from the university shared that mushroom cultivation requires minimal land, and even in a 10x10 room, farmers can grow mushrooms to increase income. He also guided participants on production techniques and market linkages.
During the meeting, Head Scientist Dr. Maniram Choudhary presented the 2024-25 action plan along with a review of the previous year’s progress.
The session was attended by Dr. Kailash Sharma (Deputy Director Horticulture), Dr. Hitesh Meena (Deputy Director Animal Husbandry), Dr. Monika Joshi (Assistant Professor, Veterinary College), Pramod Kumar (Rajasthan State Seed Corporation), Narendra Jain (Seva Mandir), Doodaram Meghwal, Ratan Lal Jat, and several others who shared their views.
Shri Mohan Lal Khatik and Computer Programmer Abhilasha Pokharna were also present. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Hitesh Kumar Koli.
