Recruitment in ALP: Possible Timeline Released for Completing the Age Relaxation Process

Shriganganagar - Recently, the Railway Recruitment Board issued a notification, CEN-01/2024, for the position of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP). To dispel misconceptions arising among candidates regarding the age limit specified in the notification and to ensure the recruitment process is completed within the stipulated time frame, a timeline has been released.

Captain Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, explained that due to the COVID pandemic, some candidates find themselves exceeding the specified age limit mentioned in the notification. To provide relief to these candidates, a decision has been made to grant a 3-year age relaxation within the defined age limit. As per the new guidelines, candidates from the general category and EWS born between July 2, 1991, and July 1, 2006, are eligible to apply. Similarly, OBC (NCL) candidates born between July 2, 1988, and July 1, 2006, and SC/ST candidates born between July 2, 1986, and July 1, 2006, can also apply for this position.

Captain Shashi Kiran highlighted that the recruitment notification, CEN-01/2024, outlines a phased examination process with the goal of completing the process within the defined time frame. The first phase aims to complete the CBT-1 examination for ALP from June to August 2024. The second phase targets the completion of the CBT-2 examination in September 2024, and the third phase plans to conclude the Aptitude Test (CBAT) examination in November 2024. Subsequently, the shortlisting of candidates for document verification is scheduled to be completed by November-December 2024. Further recruitment phases, including the release of vacancies and announcements for Technicians, are anticipated in January 2025.
