Antyodaya Sambal Fortnight bringing government schemes to the truly deserving

Udaipur | Acting on the vision of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the ongoing Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Sambal Fortnight is not just a symbol of administrative proactiveness but also a decisive step towards social justice and inclusive development. Beginning on 24th June and continuing until 9th July, this statewide campaign aims to ensure that welfare schemes and government services reach the last person in line—enhancing dignity, self-reliance, and the quality of life.

Inspired by the ideology of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s Antyodaya, the fortnight is being organized through camps at gram panchayat headquarters across all districts. These camps serve as unified platforms where citizens can avail themselves of welfare services from multiple departments without the need to visit numerous government offices. This initiative is a fine blend of administrative efficiency and sensitive governance, ensuring direct delivery of benefits to eligible individuals on the spot.

A total of 63 public services from departments such as Social Justice & Empowerment, Women & Child Development, Labour, Health, PHED, Revenue, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Panchayati Raj, Education, and Energy have been integrated into the drive. Services include resolution of pending land demarcation and mutation cases, applications under the Deendayal Antyodaya Gram Yojana, distribution of land ownership documents, water tank cleaning, repair of leakages, cleaning and repair of canal banks, distribution of saplings from nurseries, collection of soil samples and soil health card distribution, insurance certification for livestock, free vaccination and treatment of animals, resolution of NFSA-related grievances, Ayushman Card distribution, school admission drives, and rectification of power lines and poles.

The uniqueness of these camps lies in the administration reaching out to the people directly. District Collectors, SDMs, Tehsildars, BDOs, and departmental officers are engaging with citizens on a common platform. These interactions are not symbolic but rather oriented towards quick resolutions and trust-building. Eligible individuals—especially the elderly, women, and the differently-abled—are receiving immediate benefits and necessary documents at the camps.

The Antyodaya Sambal Fortnight is a vivid example of social harmony in action—where service delivery transcends caste, religion, class, or income status. It signals a shift in governance, from file-bound schemes to real, on-ground implementation. For SC/ST communities, economically weaker sections, single women, widows, and persons with disabilities, these camps are emerging as beacons of hope.

Provisions have been made for online data entry, Jan Aadhaar verification, on-the-spot benefits, and regular monitoring and evaluation at the state level to ensure transparency and accountability.

The campaign reflects Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s principle that it is the duty of the state to ensure food, health, education, housing, and dignity for the most neglected individual. As the administration now actively reaches out to serve them, a major step is being taken toward realising his vision.

To ensure the success of this initiative, active participation from rural communities is crucial. Elected representatives, NGOs, and aware citizens have a key role in spreading information about the camps. Social media, local outreach, and village-level mobilization efforts can help people arrive prepared to benefit from the schemes.

The Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Sambal Fortnight is more than an administrative campaign—it is a reflection of sensitive governance where the last person is placed at the centre of planning and execution. It is not merely about distributing services, but about fostering dignity, self-worth, and development across Rajasthan’s rural landscape. When the government, administration, and society work together—transformation becomes not just possible, but tangible.
