New Delhi/Mumbai. French President Emmanuel Macron has specially invited Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, a film actor and film archivist who has been working to preserve the heritage of Indian cinema and bring global recognition to Indian film culture, to the prestigious Lumière Summit.

This international conference will be held on September 7, 2026, at the Fondation Magot in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France. The conference will be co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung. The conference aims to bring together leading filmmakers, policymakers, technical experts, and film institutions to discuss the future of cinema and the moving image.

Shivendra Singh Dungarpur's invitation to this global platform is considered a significant achievement for Indian cinema and its rich film heritage.  This invitation is a matter of pride for Rajasthan, especially given his connection to the former Dungarpur royal family of Rajasthan and his international recognition in the field of Indian film heritage.

The Film Heritage Foundation founder  and director, Shivendra Singh Dungarpur has long been active in the field of preservation and restoration of Indian film heritage. He is the founder of the Film Heritage Foundation and has been involved in the campaign to preserve India's old and rare films. His organization has played a role in the preservation and restoration of many important Indian films.

This year's Lumiere Summit comes at a time when the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI), social media, and OTT platforms has posed new challenges and opportunities for the film industry.
