Udaipur: A religious discourse was organised at Mahavir Samavsharan in Devendra Dham as part of the ongoing religious programme being conducted under the aegis of Shri Vardhaman Sthanakvasi Jain Shravak Sangh.

Addressing devotees, Dr. Surendra Muni highlighted the significance of the Bhaktamar Stotra and said true devotion should be practised with a selfless attitude. Devotion, he said, should not be driven by the desire for material rewards but by complete surrender to the divine.

He explained that Acharya Mantung had composed the Bhaktamar Stotra in praise of Lord Adinath, the first Tirthankara. The 48 verses of the Bhaktamar Stotra contain distinctive seed mantras and yantras. Devoted spiritual practice, he said, can bring spiritual joy and positive energy into life.

The second verse of the Bhaktamar Stotra was described as a means of overcoming hostility, opposition, distress and difficulties. Social worker Himmat Mehta was among those who benefited from the spiritual practice.

Addressing the religious gathering, Pravartak Dr. Rajendra Muni described humility as the foundation of religion. He said humility brings peace and happiness to life and contributes to harmony and prosperity within the Sangh, society and family.

Describing ego as a cause of suffering and downfall, Dr. Muni said that in the absence of humility, a person can become surrounded by stress and various difficulties.

Sangh president Advocate Roshanlal Jain said Tapasvini Smt. Chanchal Wadala was felicitated during the programme. Devotees were also honoured by the Mehta family. Upadhyay Ramesh Muni and Dipesh Muni offered their blessings.

General Secretary Himmat Badala said that a collective Ekashan, along with tapas and chanting, will be organised on September 20 on the occasion of Acharya Shiv Jayanti.
