Udaipur: At the age of 75, Dr S.K. Verma, Bhukti Pradhan of Ananda Marga Pracharaka Samgha, Udaipur, performed Kaoshiki dance continuously for one hour on Sunday to mark Kaoshiki Day.

Kaoshiki dance was introduced by Shri Shri Anandamurti Ji on September 6, 1978, in Patna, Bihar, with the objective of promoting the physical, mental and spiritual development of humanity. The practice is also regarded as a comprehensive exercise, involving the body and mind and contributing to overall physical and mental well-being.

Dr Verma has been performing Kaoshiki dance and yoga asanas regularly as part of his daily routine. Notably, this was the third consecutive year in which he performed Kaoshiki continuously for one hour on Kaoshiki Day.

His dedication to the practice at the age of 75 serves as an example of maintaining an active and disciplined lifestyle. Practitioners associate regular Kaoshiki practice with improved physical and mental well-being, sustained energy and healthy ageing.

Dr Verma is currently serving as Professor Emeritus at Pacific Medical College and Hospitals, Udaipur. He is also the President of the Society for Microvita Research and Integrated Medicine (SMRIM), Udaipur.

His commitment to maintaining an active lifestyle and continued engagement in yoga and Kaoshiki practice has made him an inspiring example for practitioners and followers of Ananda Marga.
