Udaipur: A pledge programme was organised at the College of Community and Applied Sciences, a constituent college of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign). The initiative aimed to sensitise students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage them to contribute to building a drug-free society.

College Dean Dr. Sarla Lakhawat administered the pledge to students, faculty members and staff. Participants pledged to stay away from intoxicating substances and to create awareness about the harmful consequences of substance abuse among their families, friends and the wider community.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Lakhawat said that young people are the future of the nation and can make a significant contribution to building a healthy and empowered society by staying away from substance abuse. She urged students to play an active role in creating a drug-free environment and inspiring others to make responsible choices.

The programme concluded with students taking a collective pledge to contribute towards the vision of a Drug-Free India and promote awareness against substance abuse in society.
