Udaipur,  Patients suffering from long-standing pain now have access to an advanced pain management option at Geetanjali Medical College & Hospital, with the launch of Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) at the Department of Anaesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine.

The facility was inaugurated on August 31 in the presence of senior doctors and faculty members. The inauguration ceremony was conducted by Mr. Ankit Agrawal, Executive Director, Geetanjali Medical College & Hospital.

Explaining the importance of the new facility, Dr. Alka Chhabra, Head of the Department, said RFA provides an additional treatment option for carefully selected patients who do not receive adequate relief from medicines and conventional treatment.

RFA may be used in appropriate cases involving chronic knee and joint pain, spine-related pain and cancer-associated pain. The aim of the treatment is not only to reduce pain but also to help patients regain their ability to perform everyday activities and improve their quality of life.

During the programme, Dr. Charu Sharma delivered a detailed presentation on RFA, explaining its mechanism, applications, procedure and the patients who may be suitable candidates for the treatment.

The launch of the facility reflects the growing focus on specialised pain management and minimally invasive treatment options. For patients living with persistent pain, proper assessment and appropriate treatment can play an important role in achieving better pain control and improving day-to-day functioning.

With the introduction of RFA, Geetanjali Medical College & Hospital has expanded its specialised pain management services, offering appropriately selected patients a new avenue towards pain relief, improved mobility and a better quality of life.
