Udaipur: Lions Club Ashoka organised a tree plantation drive at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Pratap Nagar, planting 20 saplings of mango and jamun. Students of the school’s Eco Club and NCC actively participated in the programme and assisted in the plantation drive.

Founder President of Lions Club Ashoka, Lion Mukesh Madhavani, said the initiative was organised to promote environmental conservation and the spirit of community service. He said planting trees should not remain a one-day campaign, but must be followed by sustained efforts to protect and nurture the saplings.

Club members Lion Shrichand Khathuria, Lion Sameer Rohida, Lion Manish Jain, Lion Nilesh Dodeja and Lion Tribhuvan Singh Rao were present on the occasion. Leo Kirti Shah of Leo Club Udaipur Yuva Ashoka also participated in the programme.

Addressing the students during the school assembly, club vice-president Lion Shrichand Khathuria outlined the various social service activities undertaken by the club. He urged students to remain consistently aware of environmental issues and take responsibility for the regular care of the newly planted saplings.

Khathuria said judicious use of water and other natural resources was the responsibility of every citizen. He encouraged students to spread awareness about environmental conservation among their families and communities.

School principal Rajeshwar Singh said the school staff and students would take full responsibility for the care and maintenance of the saplings. He thanked the Lions Club members, teachers and students for undertaking the social and environmental initiative.

Vice-principal Abdul Haseeb Khan, teacher Moizur Rahman Khan, Eco Club in-charge Dwarikaprasad Dhanera and Anurag Sihra, along with other teachers and students, were present at the programme.
