Udaipur: The Pacific College campus at Chitrakoot Nagar turned into a vibrant celebration of culture, devotion and youthful enthusiasm on Saturday as students marked Janmashtami with a traditional Dahi Handi celebration alongside Teachers’ Day festivities.

The programme opened with lively songs and dance performances depicting Lord Krishna’s childhood, Radha-Krishna’s divine plays and the rich traditions of Braj. Students brought these themes alive through dance and enactments, while colourful costumes and expressive performances created an atmosphere reminiscent of festive Vrindavan.

A costume competition was another major attraction, with participants dressed as Krishna, Radha and other traditional Indian characters. Their creative presentations, expressions and costumes won appreciation from the audience.

Group Chairperson Ashish Agrawal said the Dahi Handi competition was the highlight of the celebrations. As students attempted to reach and break the suspended pot, the campus echoed with applause, cheers and enthusiastic support. Teamwork, balance and courage added excitement to the traditional event.

Teachers’ Day added an emotional dimension to the celebrations, with students expressing gratitude to their teachers and acknowledging their guidance as an important force in shaping their lives.

Pacific College Principal Dr. Rimjhim Gupta said Rehan, Shafil and Zaid won the Best Dress (Male) category, while Akshara, Niyati, Siya and Sahiba were recognised in the Best Dress (Female) category. Ayesha won Best Solo Dance, while Ayesha-Rehan and Siya-Lakshita emerged winners in the group dance categories.

The event concluded with prizes being presented to outstanding performers in dance, costume and Dahi Handi competitions, making it a memorable blend of festivity, tradition, talent and respect for teachers.
