Udaipur: Players delivered impressive performances in the pre-quarterfinals of the Rajasthan State Badminton Sub-Junior Under-17 Championship, securing places in the quarterfinals after a series of closely contested matches. Udaipur’s Harman Pandit emerged as one of the standout performers, advancing to the quarterfinals in three categories.

Tournament Secretary Sudhir Bakshi said the pre-quarterfinal matches witnessed intense competition, with several encounters going down to the wire. In the Boys’ Singles, Harman Pandit defeated Akshat Shekhawat 15-10, 15-7 to book his place in the quarterfinals. In the Mixed Doubles, Harman Pandit and Adwika Sharma defeated the pair of Bhavya Ghosh and Tuhin Badal 18-16, 12-15, 15-4 to progress to the next round. His advancement in three categories became one of the highlights of the championship.

In Boys’ Singles, Anshuman Chaudhary, Kandarpa Sharma, Harman Pandit, Garvit Barwar, Divyansh Tomar, Shreyansh Chaudhary, Devashish Prajapat and Vayam Lamba won their respective matches to enter the quarterfinals. The match between Divyansh Tomar and Jatin Beniwal was particularly thrilling, with Tomar clinching the deciding game 20-18.

In Girls’ Singles, Ritika Jhamnani, Padmaja Singh, Kavya Joshi, Ojaswita Dubey, Joshika Prajapat, Lakshita Bhardwaj, Nehal Sisodia and Deshna Jain secured quarterfinal berths.

The Mixed Doubles quarterfinalists are Harman Pandit–Adwika Sharma, Kanha Gurjar–Ojaswita Dubey, Kandarpa Sharma–Deshna Jain, Rudraksh Middha–Danika Karel, Yuvraj Singh Shekhawat–Khushi Sharma, Manas Gehlot–Lakshita Bhardwaj, Tanishq Sharma–Kavya Chaudhary and Darshil Nair–Mansi Saini.

In Girls’ Doubles, the pairs of Aaradhya Jodha–Deshna Jain, Brinda Lakhiani–Vidhi Chitale, Joshika Prajapat–Padmaja Singh, Ada Verma–Mansi Saini, Kavya Joshi–Lakshita Bhardwaj, Khushi Sharma–Yashwita Mewara, Kavya Chaudhary–Miraya Fageria and Adwika Sharma–Danika Karel advanced to the quarterfinals.

Joint Secretary Chand Chawat said the quarterfinal matches will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by the semifinals at 4 p.m.
