Registrations Open for Sixth Edition of HCL Jigsaw – India’s Largest Problem-Solving Platform

New Delhi, April 2025: HCL has announced the sixth edition of HCL Jigsaw, India’s largest problem-solving platform for school students. Designed to encourage innovation, analytical thinking, and logical reasoning, the platform aims to equip students with real-world problem-solving abilities. Open to students from Grades 6 to 9, HCL Jigsaw evaluates participants on key 21st-century skills including research, critical thinking, and communication. Interested students and schools can register at www.hcljigsaw.com by July 31.

The finalists will share a prize pool of over ₹12 lakh, including an exclusive learning opportunity at HCL’s Innovation Labs. Participation in the competition is completely free for all school students.

This year’s project-based challenge revolves around the theme “Collab, Create, Conquer”, emphasizing teamwork and creativity as the mission for this edition. Operated across India, the initiative is focused on nurturing India’s top young problem solvers, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) by promoting cognitive learning and future-ready skills.

Speaking about the initiative, Rajat Chandolia, Associate Vice President and Head – Brand, HCL Group, said:

“At HCL, our aim is to empower the next generation to thrive in a dynamic world. HCL Jigsaw is not just another quiz or Olympiad—it is a launchpad for young thinkers, collaborators, and creators. The previous editions saw incredible participation, and we are excited to inspire even more schools to help students connect classroom learning with real-world scenarios.”

Evaluation Areas:

Research Skills – Understanding the problem, planning, gathering, and organizing relevant information.

Critical Thinking – Analyzing information, deriving conclusions, identifying logic behind events.

Communication Skills – Clearly articulating thoughts, effectively interpreting and explaining the information used.

Competition Structure:

🔹 Round 1 – Intra-school Level:
Students participate in an online MCQ-based test to assess reasoning, problem-solving, and comprehension skills.

🔹 Round 2 – Inter-school Level:
Selected students represent their schools in team-based challenges (teams of 3–4 students) and collaboratively solve real-world problems. The top 20 teams progress to the Pre-Jury Round.

🔹 Pre-Jury Round:
Sub-jury teams from HCL Jigsaw evaluate the projects based on creativity, logical thinking, and teamwork, selecting the top 5 teams for the Grand Finale.

🔹 Round 3 – Grand Finale:
Top teams from each grade level will present their solutions to real challenges in front of experts from education, government, and industry.

In the past five editions, HCL Jigsaw has engaged over 200,000 students from 6,000+ schools across 28 states and 8 union territories. Winners will get an immersive learning experience at HCL Innovation Labs, where they will engage with cutting-edge technologies and real-world problems, preparing them to become the problem-solving leaders of tomorrow.
