Grand Event on Women Empowerment to be Held in Lucknow

 

Lucknow, March 16: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a grand programme titled “Shreshtha Uttar Pradesh Mein Nari Sashaktikaran” (Women Empowerment in Uttar Pradesh) will be organized at the International Buddhist Research Institute, Lucknow with the support of Navneet Group of Institutions, Azamgarh. The event aims to highlight women’s empowerment, their role in society, and their contribution to healthcare and nation-building.

Several distinguished personalities will deliver special lectures during the programme. Dr. Sudhir Mishra, known as the architect of the BrahMos missile project and former Director General of DRDO, will share his insights on national security and the role of women in strengthening the nation. Defence expert Wing Commander Vandana Chaudhary will also address the gathering on similar themes.

In the field of healthcare, Professor M. L. V. Bhatt, a renowned cancer specialist and the current Director of Kalyan Cancer Institute, will speak on women’s empowerment in healthcare services. He has earlier served as the Vice Chancellor of King George’s Medical University, Lucknow and Uttarakhand Medical University.

The event will witness participation from alumni of Lucknow University as well as students from colleges affiliated with the university. On this occasion, the President of the Lucknow University Alumni Association will be honoured and memorial awards will be presented to individuals for their outstanding contributions in various fields.

During the programme, memorial awards named after the brave women of the nation will also be presented to recognize their inspirational contributions.

The event is being coordinated by Saroj Tiwari, former President of the Lucknow University Students’ Union. Co-coordinators include Rajesh Jaiswal, Manoj Tiwari, and Manoj Dixit, while Dr. Neeraj Jain is guiding the programme.

Professor Amarika Singh, Founder of Navneet Group of Institutions, said that the programme is open to all. He encouraged people to attend the event with their children, interact with the distinguished guests, and capture memorable moments through photography.
