Mumbai: Known for lending her powerful and melodious voice to socially relevant themes, singer Iram Fatima Jannat has released her latest song, Main Bhi Padhungi O Maa, inspired by the Government of India’s Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.
The song beautifully portrays the hopes and dreams of a young girl who expresses her determination to study and fulfill her aspirations, telling her mother, “Mother, I too will study and achieve my dreams.” The track has been receiving an encouraging response from listeners and is helping spread awareness about the importance of girls’ education in society.
The lyrics and composition of the song have been crafted by Arun Sharma, while music programming has been done by Chetan Shrivastava. The project is an initiative of the Shalon Foundation, aimed at promoting awareness about girls’ education and empowerment.
The song is available on major audio and video streaming platforms, including YouTube, Spotify, JioSaavn, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Gaana.
Originally from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh, Iram is the talented daughter of Dr. Aftab Ahmed and Tanveer Fatima. She received formal training in music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Prayagraj, where she earned the Prabhakar degree. She later completed her Master’s degree in Music from University of Allahabad. Currently based in Mumbai, she is actively working as a playback singer.
Iram has sung in several films and albums, and her name has been recorded in the Guinness World Records. She has also appeared on various television platforms, including Doordarshan’s DD-1 reality show Bharat Ki Shaan (Season 3), where she served as a judge. Additionally, she has performed on channels such as ETV Urdu and ETV Bharat. A poet and ghazal writer as well, she has presented her poetry recitals on All India Radio.
Speaking about the song, Iram Fatima Jannat said, “This song is very close to my heart. I recorded it remembering my mother. Education is extremely important—when girls are educated, they not only transform their own future but also bring positive change to society.”
