UdaipurThe expansion wing of the Aryabhatt Science Awareness Centre was inaugurated on Monday evening by the esteemed hands of Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh. The new facility has been constructed using the MP Fund of former Udaipur MP Arjun Lal Meena. The event was graced by Meena himself, alongside senior patron of the Vigyan Samiti K.L. Bohra, adding prestige to the ceremony. Guests inspected the new wing and were introduced to future plans related to robotics and AI education.
Civic Felicitation of Dr. K.L. Kothari
In a grand felicitation ceremony held at the Vigyan Samiti premises, Dr. K.L. Kothari—founder and chancellor of the Vigyan Samiti and a stalwart in the field of science popularisation and social service for over 66 years—was honoured as he enters his tenth decade of life. The event was organised under the chief patronage of Governor Kataria with the participation of many renowned social service institutions of Udaipur.
Governor Kataria lauded the Vigyan Samiti's efforts in promoting experimental science education and expressed confidence that such initiatives would help build a stronger future for India. Drawing a parallel to Maharana Pratap’s valor, he said, “When there is such dedication and courage, Bhamashahs naturally follow.” He appreciated Dr. Kothari’s life of selfless service, stating that financial resources are never lacking when such people exist in society.
Keynote speaker Prof. B.P. Sharma, Group President of Pacific Universities, praised Dr. Kothari’s selfless dedication and emphasized the need to instill Indian culture and values in students from a young age. Former MP Arjun Lal Meena reaffirmed his continued support for the Samiti's initiatives. Former MPUAT Vice-Chancellor Prof. Uma Shankar Sharma wished Dr. Kothari a long and healthy life.
Media coordinator Prof. Vimal Sharma informed that the program began with a welcome by Vigyan Samiti President Dr. Maheep Bhatnagar, and was anchored by Dr. K.P. Talesra.
The event was jointly organised by over 25 social and civic organisations including Mahavir International, Terapanth Sabha, Senior Citizens Committees, Dr. D.S. Kothari Institute, Mahavir Disabled Assistance Committee, Acharya Bhikshu Alok Sansthan, and many others.
Distinguished attendees included Sunil Gang, Er. Rajendra Kumar Khokhawat, Dinesh Kothari, Kamal Nahata, Pushma Lodha, Ganesh Dagaliya, Nakshatra Talesra, Dr. Prem Suman Jain, Hansa Hingad, Dungar Singh Karnawat, Dr. Surendra Bhatnagar, Prakash Kothari, Alok Pagaria, Rajendra Sen, and many other dignitaries and citizens of Udaipur.
