MP C.P. Joshi Meets Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi. Chittorgarh MP C.P. Joshi met Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Thursday to discuss key road infrastructure projects in his parliamentary constituency.

During the meeting, Joshi highlighted the persistent traffic issues on National Highway-113, especially the Nimbahera–Banswara route via Pratapgarh, due to its narrow width. He urged the Minister to widen the highway. Responding positively, Gadkari directed officials to prepare a proposal to increase the road width from the existing 5.5 metres to 10 metres.

Joshi said the widening of this crucial route, which connects Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, and Banswara, will greatly benefit the tribal region by easing traffic flow, enhancing road safety, and boosting daily commuting. He added that improved connectivity will accelerate trade, industry, tourism, and rural development. Joshi also invited Gadkari to visit Pratapgarh for the inauguration of the newly completed bypass.

The MP further requested that the Rawatbhata region be connected to the national highway network. He emphasized that Rawatbhata, home to a major nuclear power generation facility, requires swift connectivity to support strategic operations. Although earlier road approvals were granted under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund, fresh challenges remain due to the surrounding wildlife sanctuary and forest area.

Minister Gadkari acknowledged the difficulties but assured that efforts would be made to explore feasible alternatives to connect this nationally significant region to the highway network.
