Three-Day ‘Gavri’ Art and Painting Exhibition Begins at City Palace Museum

Udaipur: The three-day ‘Gavri’ Art and Painting Exhibition was inaugurated at the City Palace Museum, Udaipur. On this occasion, the ‘Shakti Kanyas’ and the artist group from Shikshantar Sansthan, representing the tribal regions of Mewar, met Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Chairman and Managing Trustee of the Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF), Udaipur.

During the interaction, a meaningful discussion was held on the invaluable cultural heritage of Mewar — the ‘Gavri Festival’. Dr. Mewar expressed pride in the region’s rich traditions and emphasized the importance of their preservation and promotion. He appreciated the innovative efforts of Shikshantar’s ‘Shakti Kanyas’, noting that such initiatives inspire cultural awareness and creativity among the youth.

Organized with the support of the Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation, this special ‘Gavri’ art and painting exhibition is being showcased at the City Palace Museum from October 31 to November 2, 2025. The exhibition aims to introduce visitors from across the country and abroad to the unique folk culture and artistry of Mewar, enhancing the region’s cultural identity and artistic heritage on an international platform.
