World Poetry Day Celebrated at Public Library, Kota

Kota,  Poetry, deemed as a testament to the documents of its time, civilization, culture, and universal panorama, was celebrated with fervor at the public library on the occasion of World Poetry Day. Attendees expressed that there is no better medium than poetry to articulate the beauty of the world, where the poetic realm breathes life into dreams. For poets, listeners, and readers alike, poetry has been, is, and will continue to be a reflection of emotions of the heart. These sentiments were echoed by the distinguished guests during the event.

Leading the discourse, Satish Gautam shed light on the essence of poets and poetry in the present context. Chairing the event, Prof. K.B. Bharatiya juxtaposed poetic mythologies with contemporary relevance. Renowned litterateur Jitendra Nirmohi described poetry as a document of its time, civilization, culture, and vast expanse. He emphasized that poetry not only showcases the transition of time but also provides resolutions.

Ajay Purushottam, Gopal Namendra, and Dr. Prabhat Kumar Singhal also shared their thoughts on the occasion. Literary readings were performed by Unnati Mishra and Rajesh Gautam, while young Navya presented a hymn to Goddess Saraswati.

On this occasion, the Hindi translation of Jitendra Nirmohi's Rajasthani novel "Nugari" titled "Ladbaai" was also released by Puran Sharma. Chief Guest and reviewer Vijay Joshi presented an overview of the novel.

Welcoming the guests, Library Director Dr. Deepak Srivastava highlighted that the United Nations declared March 21st as World Poetry Day in 1999 with the primary objective of promoting and disseminating poetry and encouraging authors and publishers.

The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the guests, followed by Mahesh Pancholi conducting the proceedings as the emcee. Several literary luminaries graced the occasion with their presence.
