K.D. Abbasi Kota: A charged environment is building up in Kota as the Congress prepares for a massive protest on September 10 against what it calls the complete failure of the ruling governments at both the Centre and the State.
Addressing a workers’ meeting organized by the City District Congress Committee, senior Congress leader and former MLA Prahlad Gunjal alleged that the entire state is reeling under chaos and the common man is facing harassment. “There is no trace of law and order left. The people no longer know from whom to seek justice. In Kota, even complainants hesitate to go to the police stations, as the city police stand subservient to minor officials,” he said. Gunjal declared that Congress workers would no longer tolerate this situation and would take to the streets as the true voice of the people.
City District Congress President Ravindra Tyagi launched a fierce attack, asserting that the menace of vote theft began from Kota itself, with its mastermind operating from the city. “The failure of the government, be it in law and order, rampant vote rigging, or the destruction caused by excessive rains, has generated widespread anger among the people. Today not just the state but the entire nation is looking towards the Congress,” Tyagi asserted, adding that Congress workers are determined to shake the very foundations of the ruling establishment.
The meeting was also addressed by former MLA Poonam Goyal, PCC General Secretaries Anup Thakur and Ameen Pathan, Congress candidate Mahendra Singh Rajoria, former rural president Saroj Meena, PCC Secretaries Shivraj Gunjal and Manzoor Tanwar, PCC Member Kranti Tiwari, Harpal Singh Rana, and Vipin Barthunia among others.
