####Administration Remains Sensitive to Rain-Affected Areas

Udaipur,In line with the state government’s intent to provide immediate relief to the public affected by excessive rainfall, the district administration has remained fully alert and sensitive. District Collector Namit Mehta has been continuously touring the affected regions to assess the ground situation. On Tuesday, he visited the Gogunda area, where he reviewed damage caused by heavy rains and instructed officials to ensure prompt temporary relief for the people.

The Collector, accompanied by SDM Shubham Bhaisare, Development Officer Mahip Kumar, Tehsildar Ranchhod Lal, and other construction department officials, first inspected Mokhi village, where he observed the temporary repair work on a collapsed culvert and took stock of damaged roads and buildings. Later, he reached Padawali to review a collapsed road section and discussed with villagers the rising water level of the Sabarmati River. Officials assured him that temporary restoration of the road had been carried out to restore connectivity.

Emphasis on Quick Restoration of Internal Roads
During interactions with villagers, the Collector stressed that apart from main routes, internal roads should be restored at the earliest. He reviewed the damage to a culvert in Kelthra village and directed departmental officials, with the support of local panchayats, to expedite restoration for smooth transportation. Villagers, led by Ranjit Singh, Deputy Sarpanch of Vas Panchayat, highlighted crop damage in maize, soybean, and urad due to the rains. The Collector ordered surveys to assess the losses. Locals also demanded the construction of a larger bridge over the Sabarmati River to ease movement, especially for schoolchildren traveling to senior and private schools in the area.

The Collector further inspected the overflow area of the Shivalik Dam and instructed revenue officials, including patwaris and girdawars, to promptly report damages to roads, culverts, buildings, and crops. He directed them to submit proposals for necessary repair works without delay.

Inspection of Padawali PHC
During his visit to the Primary Health Centre in Padawali, the Collector reviewed outpatient services, staff deployment, and sub-centers. He emphasized proper storage of medicines and vigilance against seasonal diseases. He instructed that at least one medical staff member be available at the PHC round the clock to ensure timely treatment, especially in maternal care cases. He also interacted with patients and their families to verify the availability of free medicines and diagnostic facilities.

This proactive approach by the district administration reflects a strong commitment to minimizing public hardship and ensuring timely support in rain-affected rural areas.
