Udaipur, The Guru Bhakt Parivar celebrated the 52nd Acharya Padarohan Diwas (Ascension Anniversary) of Sant Shiromani Vidyasagar Maharaj with great enthusiasm at the Tarun Sagar Sagaram Sukh Sagar hall near Tarun Sagar, Udaipur. The event was organized by coordinator Samrat Jain Shastri, who expressed that Acharya Vidyasagar is the living embodiment of timeless wisdom in the present age.
It was on this day that revered Jain monk Param Pujya Gyan Sagar Maharaj had renounced the Acharya Pad and bestowed it upon Pujya Vidyasagar, making him his guru. The life of Acharya Vidyasagar serves as a profound source of inspiration in this modern era. Even amidst the challenges of this physical age, he strictly adheres to the most rigorous ascetic practices.
In his ascetic life, Acharya Vidyasagar refrains from possessing anything, including mobile phones, televisions, coolers, air conditioners, fans, vehicles, homes, bank balances, and even clothes beyond the minimum essentials. His daily routine includes partaking in food just once a day in a methodical manner. He sleeps on the ground, walks on foot, and wears minimal clothing in the Digambara (naked) state. He has renounced milk, curd, sugar, fruits, dry fruits, oil, mats, and even the act of spitting.
Kunthu Kumar Ganpatot, President of the Dharm Prabhavana Samiti, highlighted that Acharya Vidyasagar's blessings have led to the establishment of Pratibha Sthali, where 5000 girls are receiving education and imbibing cultural values. Additionally, various humanitarian activities such as employment for prisoners, caring for animals, and managing around 150 Goshalas (cow shelters) are being undertaken under his guidance.
Siddharth Tayal delivered an insightful discourse on the significance of dharma (religion) in life. The entire program witnessed mesmerizing performances by singer Deepesh Shastri, who hails from the Digambara Jain Shraman tradition of Sanganer.
