Udaipur. The Rotary Club of Udaipur Meera successfully completed its sanitation and hygiene project “Shuddhi” under the ‘Aviral 6-Day One Week Challenge’ at a school in Hiran Magri Sector 11. Within just six days, the school’s basic infrastructure was transformed, including the renovation of toilet blocks and provision of clean drinking water facilities for students.

The ambitious project was executed in record time under the leadership of Club President Dr. Rekha Soni and Water & Sanitation Director Aastha Murdiya. Previously, the facilities were in a dilapidated and unusable condition, but now 685 girls have access to a clean, safe, and dignified environment. The upgraded premises have been formally handed over to the school administration.

Experts believe that improved sanitation facilities will lead to increased attendance and participation among students. It will also enhance hygiene awareness and significantly improve the health and safety of the girls.

District Governor Nominee Deepak Sukhadiya appreciated the initiative, stating that such socially impactful efforts deserve encouragement at every level. Dr. Rekha Soni credited the success to the team’s dedication and effective coordination.

Highlighting broader health awareness, Aastha Murdiya shared insights about the ‘Swasthaa’ wellness community initiative, aimed at promoting holistic health practices. Harsha Kumawat also addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of personal hygiene and encouraging them to maintain the newly developed facilities.

Embodied in the spirit of “Happy School, Happy Girls, Happy Toilet,” this initiative stands not only as an infrastructure upgrade but also as a symbol of commitment toward dignity, health, and education for young girls.
