Udaipur Dominates State-Level Weightlifting and Yogasana Championships

Udaipur,  Udaipur athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the State-Level Weightlifting and Yogasana Competitions, securing a total of 5 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals across both events.

At the State Education Department’s Weightlifting Championship, held under the aegis of Government Senior Secondary School Kamana, Hanumangarh (Pilibanga), the Udaipur team showcased remarkable talent by winning three gold and two silver medals.

Team Coordinator Dev Rawat informed that in the Under-17 Girls (48 kg) category, Akshara Pawar won the gold medal, while in the Under-17 Girls (44 kg) category, Vamakshi Jhala secured silver. In the Under-17 Boys (60 kg) category, Rupesh Baranda claimed gold, and in the 79 kg category, Hariom Nishad Malla also struck gold. Tehjib Khan earned silver in the Under-19 Girls (86 kg) category.

The team’s impressive performance was achieved under the guidance of Team Incharge Shankar Lal Dhobi and coaches Govind Prajapat and Pallavi Chaubisa.

Strong Showing in Yogasana Competitions

In the State-Level Yogasana Championships (Boys/Girls 17 & 19 categories), Udaipur secured two gold and two bronze medals, finishing third overall.

Team coach Harvinder Singh shared that in Artistic Single (Boys 19), Ranveer Singh and Yashpal Singh both achieved third positions in their respective events. In the Artistic Pair (19 years) category, Yashpal Singh and Gaurang won gold medals for Udaipur. Similarly, in the Artistic Single (Girls 17) category, Manya Sharma clinched gold.

The Yogasana team was guided by Coach Harvinder Singh (boys), Coach Bharat Singh (girls), Team Incharge Shraddha Prabhakar, Team Manager Suresh Sharma, and Assistant Administrative Officer Prabhjeet Singh (Boys Team Manager).

The Udaipur Yogasana team, which secured the third-place trophy, presented it to District Education Officer (Secondary) Lokesh Bharti and Deputy District Education Officer (Physical Education) Lakshman Salvi, marking another proud moment for Udaipur in the state’s sporting arena.
