Celebration of the 184th Birth Anniversary of Saint Tha. Gumān Singh Ji with the Restoration of Ram Jharokha

Udaipur: The 184th birth anniversary of the revered saint, Tha. Gumān Singh Ji, was celebrated with great reverence alongside the restoration of Ram Jharokha in the village of Lakshmanpura near Udaipur. The ceremony commenced with a havan conducted by Tha. Bhagwat Singh Lakshmanpura, Surendra Singh, Ram Singh, and Chetanyaraj Singh, followed by an offering of prayers. Subsequently, a garbha griha (sanctum sanctorum) was established in the newly constructed Ram Jharokha, featuring idols of Chārbhujā, Shri Ram, Yogiraj Tha. Gumān Singh Ji, and Ekling Ji. Dignitaries including Rao Sahab Mayurdhvaja Singh Bāṭheḍā, Secretary of BN Institution Dr. Mahendra Singh Āgarīyā, Sant Lakshmanapuri Goswami, Tha. Vijendra Singh Lakshmanpura, Tha. Īśvara Singh Sākariyā Kheḍī, Govind Singh Sodāvās, Dr. Lakshminarayan Dashora, Dr. Siddharaj Singh and Dr. Kamal Singh Bemlā of BN University, Bhawani Pratap Singh Tāṇā, Tha. Dīn Dayāl Singh, Satyapal Singh Thāṇā, Padam Singh Sāraṇ, Devendra Singh Sāraṇgdevot Bhāgal, Himmat Singh Asāvārā, Kishan Singh Devālī, Keval Kumar Talasaniyā, Rajendra Singh, Jīvan Singh, Chandrabhān Singh, along with many revered mothers, seekers, and practitioners graced the occasion. The welcome address was delivered by Bhagwat Singh, followed by Dr. Ram Singh shedding light on the life of Tha. Gumān Singh Ji, who in 1894 (self-realization year of Vikram Samvat 1951) constructed his yoga practice center "Ram Jharokha" in the west of Lakshmanpura. The concept of the aforementioned nine doors was based on the following verse from the Arthavaveda and his own experiences:

*"Aṣṭācakrā navadvārā devānāṁ pūrayodhyām,*
*Tasyāṁ hiraṇyayaḥ kośaḥ svargo jyotiṣāvṛtaḥ."*

Furthermore, Dr. Mahendra Singh Āgarīyā elaborated on the spiritual aspect of Tha. Gumān Singh Ji, while Dr. Kamal Singh Bemlā introduced awareness about his yoga practices. Surēndra Singh narrated how Tha. Gumān Singh Ji arranged food supplies during the famine from Uttar Pradesh for his people. Govind Singh Sodāvās referred to Lakshmanpura as the land of saints and shared several enlightening anecdotes. Sant Lakshman Puri Goswami imparted knowledge about self-realization and yoga through couplets (dohas). The event concluded with a communal meal and devotional singing led by the renowned bhajan singer Bhagat Pushkar 'Gupteshwar'. The stage management and vote of thanks were handled by Surēndra Singh Lakshmanpura.

It is noteworthy that Saint Gumān Singh Ji, a master of Rajyoga, was a disciple of Saint Kamal Bhāratī Ji of Omkāreshwar and a student of the renowned saint Chatur Singh Ji Bāvajī. His literary contributions include Moksha Bhavan, Advaita Bhavani, Gita and Patanjali Yoga Commentary, Manisha Laksha Chandrika, Rāmaratna Mālā, and Gumān Padāvalī, among others. Saint Gumān Singh Ji left this transient world in 1919.
