Unveiling of Sanskrit Textbook 'Sanskrit Gadya' for B.A. Second Semester

In accordance with the new National Education Policy and curriculum, the release event for the new Sanskrit textbook titled 'Sanskrit Gadya' for the B.A. second semester took place at Govind Guru Tribal University in Banswara on Tuesday. Professor Rajesh Joshi, who authored the book, presented the first copies to the university's library for the benefit of undergraduate arts students. The unveiling ceremony was attended by esteemed members, including Professor Seema Bhupendra, Professor B.K. Sharma, and invited guest Dr. Rajendra Kumar Sharma, an eminent figure in agricultural science.

Professor Kalyanmal Singada, the Vice-Chancellor, expressed satisfaction during the book's launch and emphasized its significance for students. The textbook, authored by Professor Rajesh Joshi, covers three units: Shukanasopadesha, Shivarajvijayam, and a concise history of Sanskrit prose literature. The Shukanasopadesha section, which includes excerpts from Banabhatta's Kadambari, serves as an exemplary illustration of prose style. Shivaraj Vijayam, recognized as the first novel in Sanskrit literature, holds the pride of place in the curriculum. Professor Joshi highlighted that Shukanasopadesha imparts a lesson on caution amidst the prevailing materialistic challenges, while Shivaraj Vijayam showcases the struggle and triumph of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj against the cruel Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, providing valuable lessons on preserving India's sovereignty.
