B.Ed. Students Learn About Solar Cooker

Udaipur: Students of the Teacher Training College, Manikya Lal Verma Shramjeevi College, attended an insightful demonstration on solar cooking by Dr. Manju Jain, who has been using a solar cooker for the past 42 years.

Dr. Jain explained how various dishes like dal-baati, rice, and even snacks such as roasted semolina and peanuts can be prepared using solar energy. She emphasized that the cooker is a boon for working women teachers, as it reduces the need to stand for long hours like with gas stoves, thereby preventing health issues such as varicose veins.

The students took a pledge to adopt solar cooking at home and spread awareness among their future pupils. Participants included Laxita Vyas, Bhumika Lohar, Ross Ahari, Sonam Chundawat, Sofia Sheikh, Jigyasu, Durgashankar Meena, and Jayvardhan Singh Dulawat.

The session was also graced by Jal Mitra Dr. P.C. Jain.
