Udaipur: Postgraduate students of the Department of Botany from Government Meera Girls College undertook an educational visit to the Central Laboratory established in the Department of Botany at Mohanlal Sukhadia University on February 23, 2026.
The visit was organized under the Postgraduate Council of the Botany Department and was conducted under the guidance of Council In-charge Prof. Kiran Tak and Council Member Dr. Vartika Jain.
At the outset, Dr. Vineet Soni, Head of the Department of Botany at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, briefed the students on various aspects of botanical sciences. Faculty members including Dr. Jaya Arora, Dr. Harish, Dr. Amit Gupta, and Dr. Kuldeep Sharma explained different techniques of plant tissue culture and demonstrated the functioning and utility of various scientific instruments available in the Central Laboratory.
Principal Prof. Deepak Maheshwari described the visit as highly significant for the academic advancement of the students.
During the visit, the students studied the working principles of several advanced instruments, including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography, Mass Spectroscopy, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Thermocycler, Fluorescence Microscope, Gel Electrophoresis apparatus, and Refrigerated Centrifuge Machine.
A total of 23 students participated in the visit and were awarded certificates. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Kiran Tak.
