Awareness Program Organized by NSS on Panchayati Raj Day

Udaipur: On the occasion of Panchayati Raj Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Sai Tirupati University organized an educational visit for volunteers at the Umarada Panchayat Office.

During the program, Village Development Officer Lokesh Pancholi welcomed everyone and highlighted the role of the Panchayat in rural development. He explained that the Panchayat plays an important role not only in disease prevention but also in treatment. He added that various government schemes are effectively implemented at the village level due to the continuous efforts and dedication of grassroots workers.

Sarpanch Gopallal Meena provided detailed information about the structure and functioning of the Panchayat, as well as budget management for various development activities. He emphasized that proper utilization of available resources at the Panchayat level can improve village development, sanitation, drinking water, roads, education, and healthcare services.

Professor Dr. Yogesh Singhal from the Department of Community Medicine discussed the crucial role of ANMs and ASHA workers in providing healthcare services and maintaining digital health records. Dr. Suresh Dev explained the significance of the day. NSS Program Officer Dr. Avantika Gupta highlighted the role of the Panchayat in overall community development and encouraged volunteers to reduce their carbon footprint and minimize plastic use to keep the environment clean.

ANM Anita Meena shared her experiences and provided information about government schemes and services. Volunteers were also invited to give suggestions for improving public health at the Panchayat level. Social workers Tarachand Salvi and Bhupendra Malu, along with all volunteers, actively participated in the program.

The program was conducted by Dr. Avantika Gupta, and information about the event was provided by NSS Program Coordinator Deepak Teli.
