Innovation in Chemistry: Green Synthesis and Drug Design

 

Udaipur, The two-day international seminar on Innovation in Chemistry: Green Synthesis and Drug Design, jointly organized by the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science of Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University and Bhupal Nobles University, concluded on Tuesday at the IT Auditorium, Pratapnagar.

At the outset, Organizing Secretary Prof. Renu Rathore welcomed the guests and informed that the seminar witnessed participation from over 300 national and international delegates. A total of 34 research papers and 24 posters were presented in technical sessions. Best paper presenters were felicitated with certificates by dignitaries. A two-day souvenir of the seminar was also released during the event.

The hybrid-mode seminar attracted participation from chemists across the USA, China, South Africa, London, Australia, Nepal, and Portugal. Major topics included nanotechnology in green chemistry, industrial applications of immobilized enzymes, sol-gel technology, cancer drugs, and heterogenesis of homogeneous catalysis.

Chief Guest and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot stated that green chemistry is not just a scientific concept but a sustainable way of life that fosters harmony with nature. He emphasized that in the 21st century, when environmental crises, climate change, and pollution threaten human existence, science must go beyond discoveries to establish a sustainable relationship with nature. He called for widespread awareness to integrate green chemistry into everyday life and policy-driven efforts from grassroots to government levels. “By embracing green chemistry today, we are not only protecting the environment but ensuring a safer and healthier future for generations to come,” he said.

Chancellor Bhawarlal Gurjar, presiding over the event, highlighted the need to strengthen research and connect it with the public. He stressed the importance of applying research in everyday life.

Technical sessions were evaluated by Dr. Saba Khan, Dr. Prabhat Baroliya, Dr. Gangotri Pemawat, and Dr. Pradyumn Singh Ranawat, who assessed the quality of paper and poster presentations. Outstanding presentations were awarded.

Notable attendees included Dr. Sapna Shrimali, Dr. Girdharpal Singh, Dr. Jaysingh Jodha, Dr. Mangal Shree Dulawat, Dr. Bhavesh Joshi, Dr. Krishnapal Singh, Lalima Sharma, and Shaktika Chaudhary, along with other faculty members, students, and researchers.

Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Girdharpal Singh, and the event was anchored by Siddhima Sharma.
