Celebrating Water Diwali: Conducting Water Source Worship

On the occasion of World Water Day, the final day of the Water Source Worship Week (March 17-22) is being commemorated today as Water Diwali at various locations, where water sources are being worshipped to pledge their protection and preservation, along with a commitment to recharge them with rainwater perpetually.

 


**First Program: Water Source Worship at Maharana Pratap University Farmhouse**

 

At the beautiful well of the farmhouse at Maharana Pratap University, named Sundarvas, a ceremonial worship was conducted by Pandit Ji. The event was attended by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnatak, Dr. P.C. Jain, former Vice-Chancellor of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Tiwari, along with all deans and directors. Dr. P.C. Jain inspired the students with the motto, "Who will care for water worries? Who will worry about tomorrow? We will, we will, and everyone, let's reduce the opening of taps."


**Geology Department: Importance of Rainwater Harvesting**

In the Geology Department of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, the main guest, water advocate Dr. P.C. Jain, shed light on the necessity of rainwater harvesting. He explained the significant changes in water usage habits, leading to increased water consumption. He emphasized the importance of rainwater harvesting as the only remaining solution to enhance water availability.

**Water Conservation Oath at Gargi Girls' Hostel**

At the Gargi Girls' Hostel, students worshipped the well on the premises and took an oath to conserve water. The warden, Dr. Maya Chaudhary, administered the oath to all.

**Debhar Colony: Hand Pump Worship**

In Debhar Colony, the tiny tots of the school worshipped a hand pump, learning about water conservation from Director Kiran Soni.

**Pujas at Various Schools and Villages**

At Rani Pura School in Tonk, students worshipped a pond under the guidance of Ram Babu Sharma. The women members of the Bharat Vikas Parishad in Kapasan, Chittorgarh, also participated in water worship. Similarly, in the small village of Hiravato, school children worshipped a hand pump.

 

These ceremonies symbolize a collective commitment towards water conservation and preservation, reminding everyone of the vital role water plays in our lives and the urgency to protect this precious resource.
