Udaipur. The Shri Ekling Nath National Seva Organization on Friday submitted a memorandum to the administration and police officials demanding strict action against vulgar and obscene performances being organized under the guise of traditional Garba and Dandiya folk dances during the Navratri festival. The organization has urged authorities to ban film songs, indecent dance acts, and performers dressed as deities for such programs.
Aakash Bagdi, Founder President of the organization, informed that members staged a symbolic protest outside the Collectorate before handing over the memorandum to the District Collector and Additional Superintendent of Police. They demanded a tough stance against those who are misusing the festival and damaging cultural values.
National General Secretary Advocate Nirmal Kumar Pandit stated that in recent years, certain commercial-minded groups have been promoting vulgar attire, western music, and dancers dressed as deities, which has hurt the sentiments of millions of Sanatan followers by distorting the religious heritage.
Bagdi further demanded that organizers using the words “Garba” or “Dandiya” or displaying images of deities in their event banners must be instructed to impose restrictions. Non-Hindus should be barred from entry, vulgar or obscene dressing must be prohibited, and events should conclude by 11 PM to ensure the safety of women returning home.
The delegation also included District President Manju Khinchi, Sunita Prajapat, Meena Yadav, and several other women members.
