###Old City Welcomes Operation Sindoor Hero, Udaipur’s Inspector Mahesh Nagda with a Grand Felicitation

Udaipur. The moment BSF Inspector Mahesh Nagda, a pride of Mewar’s soil, arrived in his home district on Saturday, the Old City was filled with patriotic fervor. A grand civic felicitation ceremony was organized by the Old City Welfare Committee, attended by eminent citizens, well-wishers from Bhattiyani Chohatta and Jagdish Chowk, and a large number of Inspector Nagda’s childhood friends.

Inspector Mahesh Nagda, a resident of Bhattiyani Chohatta and currently serving in the Border Security Force (BSF), will soon be honored with the prestigious Director General’s Disc & Commendation Roll by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. This honor is being awarded for his exceptional bravery, dedication, and presence of mind during Operation Sindoor. His contribution not only enhanced the reputation of the force but also strengthened national security.

As soon as residents of Udaipur and his friends learned about this remarkable recognition, the entire area erupted in joy. The Old City Welfare Committee decided to organize a civic felicitation, planning its details through their WhatsApp group.

On Saturday, upon receiving news of his arrival, a grand procession was taken out from Rangniwas to Jagdish Chowk. During the procession, he was presented with a traditional turban, an uprana (shawl), and a certificate of honor. Amid fireworks, cheers, and applause, the procession reached Jagdish Chowk.

An Emotional Moment

The most emotional moment came at Ashapal Temple in Bhattiyani Chohatta, where his father, Revashankar Nagda, was informed—without prior intimation—that his son Mahesh had reached Udaipur and was being honored for his contribution to Operation Sindoor. Overwhelmed with pride and joy, tears rolled down his eyes. The father-son reunion after a long time moved everyone present.

“When I left for my posting, my father and aunt told me never to bring dishonor to the land of Mewar. I always try to do something meaningful for the soil of my motherland. It is my duty to remain honest and loyal to my country and to Mother Earth.”
