Shri Ji Huzoor’s Legacy in Cinema, Art, and Tourism

Shri Ji Huzoor Arvind Singh Ji’s profound contributions to Udaipur’s tourism and the film industry will never be forgotten. His efforts to transform Udaipur into a renowned destination for destination weddings and film shoots brought the city to global attention.

I recall the wedding of actress Raveena Tandon at the City Palace, which marked a turning point. It was a key moment that attracted both Bollywood and Hollywood to Udaipur for destination weddings and film shoots, significantly boosting the city’s tourism.

Shri Ji Huzoor had a deep passion for cinema. I had the opportunity to meet him during the Ashoka Cinema Awards, and I could see how well he understood cinema and respected its artists. We spent a great deal of time together, and it was a learning experience.

During the filming of *Mirzya* at the City Palace, there was an issue regarding the lunch arrangements for the crew. Shri Ji immediately ensured that a special lunch arrangement was made for the crew members at Shambhu Palace, adhering to the tradition of *Atithi Devo Bhava* (Guest is God).

Another incident occurred at Shikarbadi, where a film was being shot that involved the use of horses. To ensure the well-being of local animals, Shri Ji expressed concern that the foreign animals might bring diseases. Under his supervision, all animals were thoroughly checked by a vet before being used for the shoot.

Shri Ji Huzoor also had a special affection for children. During a shoot for M Square Productions, which was based on Independence Day and featured over 2,000 children, everyone wanted him to be part of the patriotic song. When we requested him, he happily agreed, and his presence made the shoot a huge success.

Apart from his work in cinema and tourism, Shri Ji Huzoor Arvind Singh Ji played a key role in preserving art and culture. He was always involved in social service initiatives, and his contribution will be remembered forever. His passing is a significant loss, not just for Mewar, but for the entire state. Shri Ji Huzoor Arvind Singh Ji will always remain in our memories.
