Rajasthan Delivers Strong Performance at National Lacrosse Federation Cup

Udaipur: Rajasthan’s men’s and women’s teams delivered an outstanding performance at the Third National Lacrosse Federation Cup held in Sundernagar, winning silver medals in both categories and bringing pride to the state.

Throughout the tournament, the Rajasthan teams displayed exceptional gameplay, discipline, and determination, securing consecutive victories to reach the finals. In the final matches, the players fought valiantly until the very last moments, earning Rajasthan a new identity at the national level in the sport of lacrosse.

Players from the tribal regions of the Udaipur division, who were part of the Rajasthan team, attracted widespread attention with their talent and hard work. In the women’s category, the team was led by captain Sunita Meena, while Mohanlal Gameti captained the men’s team. Under their leadership, both teams demonstrated excellent coordination and sporting skills throughout the tournament.

The success of the teams was credited in large part to coach Neeraj Batra, whose guidance and continuous training have helped players consistently perform at the national level.

Upon returning to Udaipur after the competition, the Rajasthan team received a grand welcome and felicitation from Divisional Commissioner and lacrosse promoter Pragya Kevalramani, sports enthusiasts, social organizations, and city residents. The players were welcomed with flower garlands, traditional turbans, and loud applause.

During the felicitation ceremony, sports lovers remarked that despite limited resources, players from tribal areas are bringing glory to Rajasthan at the national level, which is a matter of pride for the entire state.

The Rajasthan team, sponsored by Rajasthan Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML), has been consistently delivering impressive performances at the national level in lacrosse, an Olympic sport. Both the men’s and women’s teams from Rajasthan have now reached the finals of national competitions for the third consecutive year, reflecting the rising standard of lacrosse in the state.

A notable aspect of the team is that most players come from Udaipur and nearby tribal regions, where they achieved this success despite difficult training conditions.

Congratulating the players on this historic achievement, Tribal Development Minister Babulal Kharadi said that the talents of tribal regions are today bringing recognition to Rajasthan across the country, and the government is continuously working to support sports talent.

Dr. Mannalal Rawat congratulated the players and said that their dedication and hard work are an inspiration for the youth. Similarly, Dr. Phool Singh Meena, Pratap Gameti, and Udaylal Dangi extended their best wishes for the players’ bright future and expressed confidence that the Rajasthan team would achieve golden success at national and international levels in the coming years.

Social workers Gajpal Singh Rathore, Pushkar Teli, Manoj Joshi, Shraddha Mudiya, Rajasthan Lacrosse Association President Ashok Parnami, and the association’s executive members also congratulated the players and coaches, saying that lacrosse is rapidly growing in Rajasthan and will create new opportunities for the youth in the coming years.

District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal praised the players’ hard work and stated that athletes from the state are continuously delivering better performances at the national level and establishing a new identity in the sports world.
