Launch of “Gram Rath Campaign” in Udaipur

Udaipur: Under the direction of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and as part of the proposed Global Rajasthan Agrotech Meet, the district-level launch of the “Gram Rath Campaign” was held on Tuesday at the Information Centre in Udaipur. The initiative aims to directly deliver information about government welfare schemes to farmers, livestock rearers, and rural residents.

Member of Parliament Dr. Mannalal Rawat, Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain, Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani, and District Collector Gaurav Agrawal flagged off the campaign vehicles in the presence of public representatives and officials.

An Effective Medium for Public Awareness – Dr. Rawat
On the occasion, MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat described the Gram Rath Campaign as a powerful tool to ensure that government schemes reach the last mile. He noted that due to lack of awareness, many eligible beneficiaries often miss out on these schemes. This initiative will travel from village to village, increasing awareness and helping more farmers and rural residents benefit from government programs. He termed it a significant step toward achieving the goal of “Prosperous Farmers, Prosperous Rajasthan.”

Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain stated that the state government is continuously working for rural development and farmers’ prosperity. Through this campaign, information about various schemes will reach rural populations directly, enhancing transparency and ensuring that benefits reach the rightful beneficiaries.

Earlier, nodal officer and Zila Parishad CEO Virma Ram, along with Deputy Director of Public Relations Gaurikant Sharma, welcomed the guests. Former Deputy Chairman Mahendra Singh Shekhawat and officials from various departments were also present, including Joint Director (Agriculture Extension) Sudhir Verma, Superintending Engineer (Water Resources) Manoj Jain, Deputy Director (Horticulture) Dr. Kailash Chandra Sharma, and Deputy Registrar (Cooperative Societies) Lokesh Joshi.

Gram Rath to Reach Villages for 15 Days
Nodal officer Virma Ram informed that under the campaign, LED-equipped mobile vans will travel across all assembly constituencies in the district over the next 15 days, following a pre-determined route chart. These “Gram Rath” vehicles will reach every village and hamlet, providing information about government schemes in a simple and visual format.

Through LED screens installed on the vans, farmers, livestock rearers, and rural citizens will receive details about various welfare schemes. The vans will also broadcast messages from the Chief Minister and related outreach programs. Each vehicle will carry a suggestion box to collect feedback from villagers. Additionally, live locations and activity photos of the vans will be uploaded on the DOMS app.

The campaign involves 13 departments, including agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, dairy, fisheries, cooperatives, irrigation, industries, energy, revenue, Panchayati Raj, and rural development, all working together to promote their respective schemes.
