Under the guidance of Dr. Kamla Mahajani, Principal Investigator of the National Agricultural Development Project, Mrs. Ankita Paliwal highlighted the nutritional and agronomic importance of millets. She explained that millets are not only highly nutritious but also climate-resilient crops capable of yielding well even with minimal water and low input costs.
Following this, Mr. Gaurav Dhakad provided training on packaging of value-added products and explained how rural women can manufacture different millet-based products and market them to establish their own startups.
Hands-on training sessions were conducted on preparing various value-added millet products such as ragi chocolates, sanwa sticks, rajgira chakli, sakkarpare, and nutra flour. Participants actively engaged in the practical sessions and learned how millet-based raw materials can be turned into useful and marketable products at a household level.
A total of 35 participants from Moyawasa village of Banswara attended the training program.
