Rail Employees Excelling in Safe and Secure Rail Operations Honored

In a review meeting held at the head office under the chairmanship of Shri Amitabh, General Manager of North Western Railway, all department heads were present to discuss security and operational aspects. Divisional Railway Managers from all zones participated through video conferencing.

During the meeting, Shri Amitabh, the General Manager, honored railway employees who have demonstrated outstanding work in ensuring safe and secure rail operations. He provided directives to all divisions to focus on safe and secure rail operations during the ongoing winter season. Emphasizing the paramount importance of safety, he urged all officers and staff to remain vigilant and contribute to the overall security of the railways.

Given the current winter conditions, special attention was urged on inspections at all levels to ensure safe and secure rail operations. Shri Amitabh highlighted the significance of paying attention to minor details in preventing accidents in safe rail operations. He specifically directed for monitoring train speed in foggy and smoky weather by locomotive pilots, along with a thorough check of visibility and control panels, and detailed inspection of block instruments.

In the meeting, Shri Amitabh acknowledged the unique contributions of railway employees in ensuring safe rail operations. He appreciated the prompt actions of Shri Surendra J., Senior Technician, Hisar, who reported a defective bogie frame during the rolling-in examination of train number 14731 at Hisar station on November 26, 2023. He also recognized Shri Ramesh Kumar Meena, Track Maintainer, Rewari, who immediately informed authorities about a rail fracture on the railway line in Anaj Mandi during the midnight fog at 03:55 AM, preventing a potential accident.

Shri Amitabh emphasized that recognizing and honoring employees encourages others and serves as inspiration for performing commendable work. He concluded the meeting by providing directives for enhancing passenger facilities, ensuring high-quality services, intensifying ticket checking campaigns, and making positive efforts to increase revenue through increased freight loading for the North Western Railway.
