Women Made Aware on International Women’s Day: ADJ Mr. Suthar

Sri Ganganagar: On the directions of Ravindra Kumar, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority and District & Sessions Judge, Sri Ganganagar, a legal awareness camp was organized on Sunday at Panchayat Bhawan Mirzewala on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The camp was conducted by Ravi Prakash Suthar, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority and Additional District & Sessions Judge, Sri Ganganagar.

During the camp, Mr. Suthar addressed the women present at the Panchayat Bhawan and spoke about the life and contributions of national heroine Sarojini Naidu, highlighting her efforts toward women’s upliftment and the protection of their rights.

The camp focused on creating awareness about women’s rights and the gender-based issues faced in rural and backward areas. These included problems such as selective abortion and female foeticide, sexual harassment, dowry demands, educational inequality, domestic violence, child marriage, and inadequate nutrition. Participants were also informed about the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, the Prohibition of Child Marriage, prevention of cybercrime, and the free legal aid services provided by legal services authorities.

Women were encouraged to remain aware of their rights and to approach legal service institutions whenever they face any legal issues.

On the occasion, Rohtash Yadav, Chief LADC, explained the functioning of the Legal Aid Defense Counsel System and provided information about the NALSA helpline number 15100. Amandeep Chalana conducted the program and informed participants about various schemes of National Legal Services Authority and Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, as well as the upcoming National Lok Adalat.

Others present on the occasion included Chief LADC Rohtash Yadav, Assistant LADC Amandeep Chalana, trainee law student Anjali Singh, advocate Aamir Khan, and advocate Rajpal, among others.
