Sri Ganganagar: Under the leadership of Honorable Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the Rajasthan government is continuously working toward women’s empowerment. As part of this effort, the Lado Protsahan Yojana, launched on 1 August 2024, aims to foster a positive attitude toward girls in society and improve their health and educational outcomes.
Initially, the scheme offered ₹1 lakh, but on 12 March 2025, on the initiative of the Chief Minister, this amount was increased to ₹1.5 lakh. Now, a commitment certificate of ₹1.5 lakh is issued at the birth of a girl, with the full amount disbursed online in seven installments over her growth period.
First installment – ₹2,500: Paid to the mother (or father/guardian if the mother is unavailable) upon the birth of a girl in a government hospital or approved private institution under the Janani Suraksha Yojana.
Second installment – ₹2,500: After the girl completes one year of age and receives all vaccinations, the amount is transferred online to the parents or guardian.
Third installment – ₹4,000: Upon admission to the first grade in a government or state-recognized private school.
Fourth installment – ₹5,000: Upon admission to the sixth grade in a government or state-recognized private school.
Fifth installment – ₹11,000: Upon admission to the tenth grade in a government or state-recognized private school.
Sixth installment – ₹25,000: Upon admission to the twelfth grade in a government or state-recognized private school.
Seventh installment – ₹1,00,000: Upon completion of a graduation degree and reaching 21 years of age, the amount is transferred directly to the girl’s bank account online.
The girl must be born in a government hospital or an approved private hospital under JSY.
The mother must be a resident of Rajasthan.
During ANC check-ups, documentation such as proof of Rajasthan residence or marriage registration certificate and bank account details is collected and maintained by the Department of Medical, Health & Family Welfare and entered on the PCTS portal.
For the first installment, the amount is transferred to the mother’s bank account; if she is unavailable, it goes to the father, and if both parents are unavailable, to a guardian’s account via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
Each girl is issued a unique PCTS ID at birth. The second installment is released online after confirmation that the girl has completed one year of age and all vaccinations. Payments for the third to sixth installments are facilitated through the school where the girl is enrolled, with tracking via her unique PCTS ID, requiring no separate application.
For the final installment, the girl’s documents upon entering graduation are uploaded by the Higher Education Department on the portal, ensuring that the amount is transferred directly upon completion of her graduation and reaching 21 years of age.
The Lado Protsahan Yojana is primarily managed by the Department of Medical, Health, and Family Welfare through the PCTS portal (Pregnancy, Child Tracking, and Health Management System), ensuring transparent and timely online disbursement of benefits.
