Sri Ganganagar: On the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, a seminar was organized today at Panchayati Dharamshala under the joint aegis of the Akhil Bharatiya Gramin Evam Khet Mazdoor Union, Janwadi Mahila Samiti, and the Communist Party of India (Marxist).
The seminar featured Prof. Chandrabhan Tyagi as the chief speaker, while the session was chaired by Janwadi Mahila Samiti district secretary Kavita Nihalia. Other speakers included Khet Mazdoor Union state president Durga Swami, Comrade Vakil Singh, Naresh Sharma, Ganpat, Ram Babu, and Richhpal, who shared their views on the occasion.
Speakers discussed in detail the life and struggles of Bhimrao Ambedkar, from his early childhood to his Mahaparinirvana. They highlighted his historic contributions to social justice, equality, Dalit upliftment, women’s rights, and the framing of the Indian Constitution. The speakers emphasized that Ambedkar’s ideas are even more relevant in today’s context.
They strongly criticized what they described as increasing attacks on the Constitution, the promotion of casteism and communalism by fascist forces, rising atrocities against Dalits, and the imposition of patriarchal “Manuwadi” ideology on women.
The speakers called upon workers, farmers, Dalits, women, and all oppressed sections to unite and collectively resist divisive and oppressive forces. They also urged progressive, democratic, and left organizations to strengthen their unity in the struggle against such tendencies.
A large number of activists and members of the public were present at the event.
