Sri Ganganagar: As part of the ongoing “Drug-Free Sri Ganganagar Campaign” led by District Collector Dr. Amit Yadav and Superintendent of Police Harishankar, a drug de-addiction awareness workshop was organized at SGL Public School.
Vikram Jyani from the Social Justice and Empowerment Department provided information about the Government of India’s MANAS helpline 1933, explaining how people can seek help and register complaints. He emphasized that drug addiction is not just a habit but a plan that destroys one’s future.
He further said that parents work hard day and night to secure a better future for their children and send them to school with high hopes, but today’s youth are increasingly falling into the false attraction of drugs, which gradually distances them from their families, dreams, and identity.
During the program, students were also made to understand that the true “coolness” lies in working hard for one’s dreams, not in choosing wrong paths that ruin life. At the end of the workshop, all students took a collective pledge to live a drug-free life and reaffirmed their commitment to building a “Drug-Free Sri Ganganagar.”
