Udaipur — In the ongoing 69th State-Level Under-19 Girls Volleyball Championship at Bandikui Dausa, Udaipur clinched the third position on Saturday by defeating Rajsamand in a tense bronze medal match. The team missed out on the finals after a closely contested semifinal loss to Bikaner, 1-3. Udaipur had last achieved a third-place finish in 1992, making this podium finish significant after 33 years.
Team coach Balwant Chaudhary highlighted Udaipur’s dominant performance in the quarterfinals (Super 8) league matches, where they defeated Rajsamand 3-0, Hanumangarh 3-0, and Didwana-Kuchaman 3-0 to secure a spot in the semifinals. Chaudhary praised setter Jinanshi for her smart lifts, attackers Lavisha Dangi and Aradhya Jat for powerful smashes, Bhumi Kothari for tight blocking, libero Khushbu Sharma for excellent defense, and versatile players Kanchan and Saloni for their all-round contributions. This collective effort helped Udaipur overcome Rajsamand in the hard-fought bronze medal match.
Team in-charge Lalita Dangi, co-in-charge Pooja Panwar, and Saloni Yadav noted that despite a strong performance in the semifinals against Bikaner, Udaipur narrowly lost 1-3 in sets.
The achievement has brought joy to volleyball enthusiasts in the district, and officials from the education department congratulated the players, coach, and team in-charge for bringing laurels to Udaipur.
