The Rajasthan State Under-13 Chess Championship 2024, organized by the Udaipur District Chess Association (UDCA) under the aegis of the Rajasthan Chess Association, was officially inaugurated on November 30 at Delhi Public School, Udaipur. The championship is being held at Delhi Public School, Bhuwana, Udaipur on November 30 and December 1.
Udaipur district has the largest participation with 97 players, followed by Jaipur with 20, Ajmer with 14, and Jodhpur with 11 players. Other districts participating include Dausa with 9, Kota with 7, Bhilwara with 6, Chittorgarh with 5, Hanumangarh and Alwar with 4 each, Rajsamand and Pali with 3 each, Barmer with 2, and Sirohi with 1 player. Additionally, players from Sikar, Nagaur, Bikaner, and Jhunjhunu are also participating in the competition.
UDCA President Sonal Garg shared that 190 participants from 18 districts across the state are taking part, reflecting the growing popularity of chess in Rajasthan. The competition promises exciting matches among young players and provides an important platform for them to showcase their skills and advance in the sport.
The principal of the school, Mr. Sanjay Narveria, mentioned that this state-level competition offers winners the opportunity to advance to national competitions and establish their identity. He also expressed confidence that these young players would take chess to new heights.
The event will conclude on Sunday with a prize distribution ceremony at Delhi Public School.
