Meeting Held with Media Personnel Regarding Vote Counting

Bhilwara,– Following the directives of the Election Commission of India and District Election Officer Namit Mehta, a meeting with media personnel was organized in the Collectorate Auditorium on Wednesday, under the chairmanship of Media Cell In-charge Mohammad Tahir, regarding the counting of votes.

During the meeting, the Media Cell In-charge informed all media personnel about the guidelines issued by the Election Commission regarding media coverage on the day of vote counting. He mentioned that media personnel with authorization letters would be allowed to enter the counting hall. He also informed that media personnel would not be permitted to carry mobile phones inside the counting hall.

No video recording with standing cameras is allowed inside the counting hall. While covering the vote-counting process with handheld or shoulder-mounted cameras, under no circumstances should photos or audio of the actual votes recorded on individual ballots or those cast in the EVMs be taken or recorded.

Public Relations Officer Hemant Chhipa informed during the meeting that a separate media center has been established at the counting center for authorized media personnel. To keep media personnel updated with the latest trends and results of the counting, the trends will be displayed on a large LED screen in the media center through the Election Commission's IT application, Trend-TV. This will provide media personnel with the latest trends and results of the counting in one place.

On this occasion, Senior Assistant of the Public Relations Department Rohit Verma and media personnel from print and electronic media institutions were present.
